What makes your practice different than any other dental practice I can visit?
Many things make us different. First, our practice offers what we consider the best and most dependable general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative dentistry services available today. We back these services with the finest materials, products, tools, and labs in the nation.
We will always focus on your comfort. Your teeth may be sensitive, so we strive to be gentle. We also offer a variety of amenities to help you relax. Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, helps anxious patients, those who have a sensitive gag reflex, and people who require complex procedures.
One of the most important ways in which we're different is that we'll listen to what you have to say. We feel that one of the easiest ways to help you relax is by talking about your concerns. Everyone on our team is extremely friendly and always happy to listen to you or talk you through a procedure.
To experience what truly makes us different, call our office to schedule an appointment.

I really don't like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?
We can tell when people are nervous about being in a dentist's office. Nothing seems to help them relax. We feel that one of the easiest ways to help you relax is to talk to our dental team about your concerns. Everyone on our team is extremely friendly, and we're always happy to listen to what you have to say or help you through your treatments. More importantly, we're gentle. To provide deeper relaxation, we offer nitrous oxide.

I'm a new patient. Can I get copies of any forms that you need me to complete, prior to my visit?
We're happy to provide you with all the necessary new patient forms prior to your first appointment. Just call our office and we will mail them to you. |
Can you show me a personalized example of how my smile can look before I choose to undergo treatment?
Yes. Our office has a digital imaging system, which is special computer software that enhances images of your smile to show you what we can do to enhance and improve it.
At your cosmetic dentistry consultation, we'll take digital photos of your smile. Then, Dr. Ross will ask you questions about what you like and don't like about your smile. Using this information, we can create a graphic image that accurately demonstrates how a specific procedure will affect your mouth as well as your entire expression. It's a fun process and produces excited smiles all around! It also gives us a starting point to design a smile that suits you perfectly.

How do I know when it's time to come in for a checkup?
The amount of time between visits to our practice depends on the state of your oral health. An average healthy adult who brushes and flosses regularly may require a checkup every six months. When you visit our office, we'll establish an appropriate treatment plan for you based on the findings of our comprehensive examination.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?
Teeth whitening is an extremely popular procedure, and many of our patients ask about the best way to whiten their teeth. Dr. Ross offers two whitening products that he feels offer optimal results: Zoom! Whitening, a light-activated bleaching system that whitens your teeth in a single appointment, and Ultradent take-home teeth bleaching products.
Since each smile is unique, Dr. Ross will evaluate your teeth and recommend the whitening method that's best for your individual needs. If your teeth are cracked, chipped, or discolored with grayish tones, he may recommend porcelain veneers or bonding.

My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?
Yes! You should be very concerned about bleeding gums, especially if you haven't had a checkup in a while. Bleeding gums can be caused by a variety of factors, from minor (brushing too hard) to very serious (gum disease). Since we won't know the reason until we see you, Dr. Ross recommends that you call us as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. We'll determine the cause of your bleeding gums and prescribe appropriate treatment.

My breath has a terrible odor, even though I brush every day. What can I do about it?
Bad breath is extremely common - unfortunately, many people are embarrassed to talk about it. Before we can suggest the appropriate treatment, we need to examine your mouth and talk to you about your brushing technique. Sometimes, the odor may indicate that you need older dental work replaced. Other times, you may simply need to change the way you brush. Don't live with bad breath - it's a relatively simple problem to fix. |
Crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays and partials…where can I learn more about these procedures?
You can learn about these procedures on our Services pages. The American Dental Association also has helpful information on these options and others. If you have additional questions about these services, talk to Dr. Ross. At our practice, we feel that direct, open communication between you and your dentist is necessary to give you all of the answers you need. Dr. Ross enjoys talking to our patients and providing needed information.

Do I really have to floss every day?
Yes. Flossing is critical for oral and overall health. Brushing cleans about 80% of your teeth, and flossing covers the remaining 20%, which is between teeth. Although that seems like a small percentage, between the teeth is where major problems can originate. That's why Dr. Ross stresses cleaning this particular area. At your checkup, our dental hygiene team can discuss the benefits of flossing and show you how to improve your technique.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces. Can you help me?
Dr. Ross offers a variety of ways to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of unsightly metal braces. For slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth, a bit of reshaping may be all that's needed. If your teeth are awkwardly spaced or crowded, or if you have gaps between your teeth, Invisalign clear braces may be the solution. Dr. Ross may suggest porcelain veneers or cosmetic bonding. (He has porcelain veneers on his front teeth and loves them!) Schedule an evaluation and, together, we'll determine the best solution to deliver the smile you deserve.
