Advanced Dental Technology for More Comfortable, Efficient Care

Advancements in dental technology over recent decades have increased exponentially, making it possible for our doctors to deliver stunning results that were nearly impossible in the past. Dentists can now offer their patients fillings that seamlessly match their natural teeth, and help them achieve straighter smiles without the use of metal brackets and wires. Dr. Donald Ross and Dr. Neal Shah strive to provide our patients with the latest in dental technology at our Atlanta, GA, practice. From comfortable anesthesia administration to incomparable teeth whitening treatments, our high-tech equipment can greatly improve the quality of your care.

The Importance of Technology

Improvements to dental technology have helped make dentistry a more exact science. Doctors are able to detect signs of decay, periodontal disease, and even cancers earlier than ever before, allowing them to address these conditions in their earliest stages.

As the technology advances, doctors can diagnose conditions more effectively, tailor treatment to each individual, and provide more comfortable, less invasive treatment for patients.

The advent of digital x-rays and 3-D imaging have made detecting hidden decay and problems with the jaw easier, and patients find them much more comfortable than traditional dental x-rays and impressions. These machines also expose patients to less radiation, making them safer than previous options.

As the technology advances, doctors can diagnose conditions more effectively, tailor treatment to each individual, and provide more comfortable, less invasive treatment for patients.

The Single Tooth Anesthesia System

The Single Tooth Anesthesia (STA™) System makes anesthesia injections easier not only for the patient, but the dentist as well. Using this technique, the doctor only applies the anesthesia to the affected tooth. This computerized system aids the doctor by letting him know when he has reached the optimal injection site and by injecting the anesthesia at a lower pressure, making it much more comfortable for the patient.

The DentalVibe Injection System

The DentalVibe system allows the doctors to administer anesthesia with virtually no discomfort, eliminating one of the biggest fears patients have when they visit the dentist. The DentalVibe wand gently vibrates the treatment site, affecting the nerves that register pain. This sensation means the patient experiences minimized discomfort. The sound of the wand as it vibrates creates a secondary distraction for the patient, and when the doctor finishes, most patients do not realize he even administered the injection.

Zoom! Teeth Whitening

The advent of teeth whitening means patients no longer have to live with a dull, discolored smile. Our doctors recommend Zoom! whitening as an in-office treatment for dramatic and immediate results. The treatment lasts around 90 minutes in total. The doctor will apply a whitening gel containing hydrogen peroxide to your teeth, then use a special lamp to activate it. As the peroxide in the gel breaks down, oxygen molecules will penetrate the enamel of your teeth, breaking apart the stained molecules. Most patients see results up to eight shades whiter after just one visit.
