Emergency Dentistry Could Save Your Smile

Drs. Donald H. Ross, Dr. David Kim and Neal Shah know that dental emergencies can happen at any time, whether you are playing football, placing holiday decorations back in the attic, or simply walking to the break room for a cup of coffee. Our practice offers emergency dentistry services in Atlanta, GA, helping you and your family when you need it most. We can usually schedule a same-day appointment, and we will provide tips to minimize your discomfort while you wait. When it comes to dental trauma, prompt treatment is key. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, you should contact Feather Touch Dental Care immediately.

Urgent Treatment at Feather Touch Dental Care

When you come to us for emergency care, you can expect a compassionate, gentle approach. We know that you may be in pain and that you are worried about your long-term dental health. To ease your discomfort and anxiety, we will schedule your appointment as soon as possible. In many cases, we can schedule a same-day appointment. In the interim, we will advise you about the most effective steps to take at home. Proper care before your appointment can be an essential part of saving your tooth.

Once you are in the office, we will do everything we can to end your discomfort, and can use our DentalVibe® tool to numb the tissues of your mouth without using injections. DentalVibe® emits carefully calibrated vibrations to stimulate specific sensory areas of your brain. Your brain will then register these vibrations instead of the pain. When you are comfortable, Dr. Ross, Dr. Kim or Dr. Shah can perform emergency treatment with minimal discomfort.

It is always important to call the dentist in an emergency situation, especially if you have lost a tooth.

Treatment for a Wide Range of Dental Emergencies

At Feather Touch Dental Care, we treat many oral health emergencies. Contact us if you have experienced:

  • A toothache
  • An avulsed (lost or knocked out) tooth
  • A loosened tooth
  • A cracked or broken tooth
  • A lost filling or crown
  • Gum injuries
  • Something stuck between your teeth

What Should You Do If You Lose a Tooth?

It is always important to call the dentist in an emergency situation, especially if you have lost a tooth. For the best chances of preserving the tooth, avoid touching the roots. Pick it up by the crown and gently rinse it off in milk or warm water. If you can, position the tooth back in the socket and keep it in place with a clean washcloth or gauze. If this is not possible, keep the tooth moist. Store it in a cup of milk or saliva, and bring the tooth with you to the dentist as soon as you can. In many cases, Dr. Ross, Dr. Kim or Dr. Shah can place it back in your mouth with no need for additional restorative treatment.

Dr. Neil Shah is my kind of dentist. Not the type to lecture. He’s there to help. Just a cool guy. The front desk staff is top notch, and Jan my hygienist is informative and sweet. I’ll never go to a diff dentist. I’m glad I found this place.

I see doctors Shah and Lee. They are patient, personable, and always mindful about comfort levels. Brittany is my hygenist, she is the best! She is friendly, explains the treatment plan well, and is gentle during cleanings.

Ken Crowel
